It's been a few weeks since there have been any articles on PriorLakeRotary.org, but that doesn't mean nothing has been going on.  Here's one big recap of the last three weeks...

NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED JANUARY 8TH

For the first meeting of 2014, we kicked off the new year by inducting two new members to our club.  Below, Club President Paul Perez (far left)  and Membership Chair Dan Stanley (second from left) induct Richard Thake (second from right) and Dan Lotts (far right) into our club.  This puts us at 70 members, and hopefully more on the way!

JANUARY 8TH PROGRAM

Gordon Lindquist joined us to talk about an exciting project he has been a part of for several years, the construction of the Nyakatsiro Health Centre in Uganda.  After helping raise funds for the initial health center, Gordon is now working to raise funds for an Operating Theatre which will allow for patients to have surgery performed on site rather than having to be transported multiple hours to another hospital.  This will be especially beneficial with pregnant women who are dealing with higher risk child births.

PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS RECOGNIZED

At the January 22nd club meeting, Foundation Chair Paul Hofslien recognized two club members for their contributions to The Rotary Foundation.  Paul honored members Dave Card for his Paul Harris Fellow plus 3, and Jack Haugen for the Paul Harris Fellow plus 9.  Congratulations to Dave and Jack, and more importanly, Thank You!
