Monday Morning Messenger - December 26th

Good Morning Prior Lake Rotarians, and welcome to a special Christmas weekend Tuesday edition of the Monday Morning Messenger!

Hopefully you had a great weekend of celebration with your family and friends, and were able to travel safely to and from wherever you went!  It really is a great time of year, and it’s a time that we can be thankful for everything we have.  Unfortunately there are those that don’t have much, but thankfully organizations like Rotary are here to help them, so thanks for all you do!

And before we get into it…Happy New Year as well!

·         BOARD MEETING LAST TUESDAY: The Board met and discussed the structure of the Prior Lake Rotary Club Foundation, approved the Corporate and Family Membership policies, and also got updates on the DARE program moving forward among other things.

·         LAST WEEK’S CLUB MEETING:  We had 50 Rotarians at our meeting last week for our annual Holiday party, and as is custom we sang…some better than others, but we sang!  Thanks to everyone for making it a fun morning…complete with the 12 Days of Christmas in MANY different pitches.

·         THIS WEEK’S MEETING: This week we’ll be having Scott County Engineer Mitch Rasmussen join us to give us an update on several road projects within Scott County, as well as provide us information on how the snowplowing is done during the winter.

·         DISTRICT MID-TERM JANUARY 14- Want to learn more about what’s going on within our District, or do you want to get re-energized for the 2nd half of the Rotary year?  Plan on attending the District Midterm on Saturday Jan 14th.

·         LAKEFRONT MUSIC FEST COMMITTEE KICKOFF JANUARY 17- All Committee chairs and members should plan on being at The Wilds on Tuesday, January 17th for the first full committee meeting for this year’s event!  Lots has been going on so far, and there’s a lot of excitement coming up…stay tuned for more!

·         VALENTINE’S GALA: It’s February 11…which is now about a month and a half away, so get out there and find people to come and auction items for them to bid on!

FINAL THOUGHT…

Do you read the Monday Morning Messenger on a consistent basis?  Is a brief synopsis of the high points a better read than a more extended summary of what all has been going on?  Would you like to write the Monday Morning Messenger??  If you have any thoughts on the best way this can be done, please reply and let Joe and Kyle know!
