Join the Prior Lake Rotary at 7am on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Wilds Club House. Normal breakfast policy applies (coffee only members must pay $11 to eat and guests are free). If you are inviting guests, please reguster them under your name. As a parent, aunt, uncle or grand parent should you encourage your female loved one to be an athlete at all levels of schooling? Do sports help or hinder proper personality and character development in women? Bring your spouse, daughter or granddaughter to the December 4, 7 am Prior Lake Rotary Meeting at the Wilds and hear from five Division 1 Women’s hockey players from the State of Minnesota!

Thank you for your interest, we hope that you can join us! This is the 3rd year that the Rotary Club of Prior Lake has sponsored this Ethics Workshop specifically designed for PLSAS Juniors and Seniors which was developed by University of St. Thomas Professor, Dr. Jason Skirry. For teh 2019/2020 school year, we are again proud to be partnering with teh students and faculty at MNCAPS. This workshop will be a one-day "retreat" focused on these areas:

There is no cost to attend and attendance is limited based on available seating (roughly 75 students). Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Prior Lake Rotary Club and our local business partners. Although school faculty are in support of this workshop, students are expected to make proper arrangements with their other classes to be out of school that day. Finding transportation to and from the workshop is the responsibility of the students. |

Kate Johansen currently serves as Director of State Policy and Government Engagement for Mayo Clinic. An attorney by trade, Johansen’s experience spans the public and private sector. She has led ACA implementation for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, served as a senior policy advisor to the Minnesota Department of Human Services, and managed government relations for Medica. Johansen has worked in all three branches of government, including clerking for the Minnesota Supreme Court. She is a summa cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the William Mitchell Law Review, and attended Stanford Graduate School of Business’s MBA program. Johansen is a 2003 Truman Scholar and was named one of the state’s “40 Under 40” business leaders by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Timothy Schacker, M.D. is a professor of Medicine and Director of the Program in HIV Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He joined the faculty in 1996. Dr. Schacker received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1986 and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences University and Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Washington in 1993. He then joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota. |
