Rotarian Allison Gontarek introduced four Prior Lake High School students and their teacher, Ryan Wagner, who shared their May 1-3 Model UN experience in Winnipeg, Canada.  The students paired up and were assigned as delegates of Cuba and Kenya, and were wonderful representatives of Prior Lake High School, Prior Lake Rotary, the Prior Lake/Savage communities, and actually the United States as there were only 6 teams from the US. Thank you to Allison for her hard work in arranging the trip and accompanying the group.

The Rotary Clubs from the United States (Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin), from Canada (Northwest Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan) - as well as some of the local Winnipeg high schools - select, sponsor and send students to Winnipeg every year to participate in Model UN Assembly.

The Assembly is a reproduction of the United Nations General Assembly. Approximately 60 to 70 UN member nations are represented by two grade 11 and/or grade12 students for a weekend of fun and debate.
