Reflections on Women in Ice Hockey
ROTD: Bob Krosnowski; Greeter: Bob Facente & Jeremy Stangler

Not  too many decades ago that a girl or woman could not play ice hockey unless she was accepted on a boys team.

Then a law change opened the door and over ninety high school girls varsity teams were created in Minnesota alone.

With the advent of girl’s hockey in high school college’s upgraded and created their own teams. Now women’s hockey is a national and international phenomenon.

On December 7  at 3:30 pm two battle tested college women’s hockey teams from the State of Hockey will go head to head as Dakotah Ice Rink in Prior Lake. This marks the first ever Hall of Fame game at Dakotah! Ice Rink.

The UMN Gophers will face the MSU Mankato Mavericks which will cap off a day chocked full of hockey games involving young girls, high school and college women.

Sport- any sport- teaches participants many important life lessons. Join the Prior Lake Rotary as players and coaches talk about the big game and equally important their experiences and lessons from the sport they love.
