The guest speaker for today's club meeting was Jody Gerdts, U of M Bee Squad Team Leader.  Jody provided us with many interesting facts about bees and their contribution to the food supply.  She informed us that each bee colony has one queen and up to 50,000 workers and that females do all the work in the colony (life is good for the male bees).  One member, who shall not be named, just had to ask:  so just how does one go about become queen?

We had 42 Rotarians at today's meeting.  Ken Hedberg, Prior Lake's mayor elect, was our distinguished guest - and hopefully future member!  The Finemasters had a jolly old time as usual (getting in the Christmas spirit no doubt).  Among the numerous fines collected today, Bill O'Rourke, by doing some exceptional detective work, fined Steve Kramer for being in possession of Manny Perez' wallet.  Not exactly sure how that could have happened, but no doubt it was all in good fun.

If you think you might be interested in joining our club, you should consider coming to a meeting any Wednesday morning at 7:00 at The Wilds clubhouse.  Everyone is welcome and best of all, you get a free breakfast.  We're always looking for new members and we'd love to see you there!
